Field Experience Requirements
South Brunswick School District takes great pride in supporting future educators from surrounding colleges and universities through field placement for observational hours and/or a student teaching experience.
Requests for Student Services field placements (Counseling, School Psychologist, Social Work, etc.) should be sent with the documentation listed below to our Student Services Department: [email protected] (Director) and [email protected] (Administrative Assistant).
Requests for Nursing field placements should be sent with the documentation listed below to the department of Special Projects: [email protected] (Director) and [email protected] (Administrative Assistant).
Requests for all other field placement should be sent directly to our office from the college/university, unless the student is otherwise instructed by the institution. The following documentation must be provided in order for the district to begin the process for securing a placement. We will not move forward until all documentation is received.
- A request for placement from the college/university outlining the observation/student teaching requirements and hours. The request for placement should be on college/university letterhead and must include the student’s name and resume.
- Criminal History Background Check - See the link below for instructions and the county and district codes.
- Negative results of the student’s Mantoux Test taken within the last six months or when the student began attending college/university.
- A copy of the student’s college/university student ID.
After all documentation is received and we begin the process for securing a placement, the person that sent the request will be notified as to whether or not we are able to host the student and the date in which they will be put on the agenda for Board of Education approval.
